WHAT WE DO

Hoarding and compulsive accumulation

When the person still lives in the property, this is not a job: it is a process. Emptying a home in a day against someone’s will produces a result that does not hold — the place fills up again within months, and their trust does not come back at all. So we work differently, more slowly, and we say so at the quote stage.

You receive : a photographic report at each stage

How it runs

  1. 01

    Who instructs us

A court-appointed deputy, a family curateur or tuteur, a landlord, or the family with the person’s agreement. We ask for the court decision where an order exists, and a letter setting out the work. We never act on a neighbour’s request alone.

  2. 02

A first visit with no equipment

We come to look and to talk, touching nothing and taking nothing away. This visit is not for pricing: it is so the person knows who will be coming into their home, and so we know what matters to them. The quote comes afterwards.

  3. 03

    Decluttering in stages

Routes through the property and escape routes first, because that is the safety question: exits, heating, consumer unit, bathroom. Then the rest, room by room, over short visits rather than one long day. Sorting is done with the person, at their pace, and what they refuse to part with stays.

  4. 04

    Disinfection and repair

Once the volume is out: full disinfection, treatment of floors and sanitary fittings, and coordinated pest treatment where needed. Whoever instructed us receives a photographic report at each stage.

What is included

  • A first visit with no work done, to set the terms with the person
  • Clearing the routes, exits and access to services as a priority
  • Sorting done with the person, over as many visits as it takes
  • Disinfection and repair once the volume is out
  • A photographic report at each stage, sent to whoever instructed us

What is not

  • Any work against the wishes of the person concerned
  • Any work on the request of a neighbour or relative with no standing to instruct us
  • Medical and social follow-up, which belongs to the relevant services: we work alongside them, never in their place
  • Any promise of a permanent result — without ongoing support the accumulation returns, and we would rather say so

As with everything we do: nothing is removed without written instruction from someone entitled to give it, no contents are bought, and no valuations are given.

The foot of a stone staircase in an old building, steps hollowed by use, pale stone walls, no lift.

What moves the price

  • The pace the person can manage, which matters more than the volume
  • The number of visits needed, rather than the number of consecutive days
  • The presence of animals, which changes the approach and requires coordination
  • The state of the services — electricity, water, drainage — beneath the accumulation
  • Whether pest treatment is needed, carried out by a licensed firm

No prices are shown on this site, and that is not coyness: two jobs with the same name can differ tenfold depending on the floor, the access and the state of the property. The quote is prepared after a visit, itemised line by line, and it is fixed.

Questions specific to this work

  • Can you go ahead if the person refuses?

No. Even with an instruction, we do not force a door and we do not remove something the person refuses to see go. Where there is immediate danger — fire risk, structural failure, a formal finding of unfitness — it is for the authorities to act, and we work afterwards within the framework they set.

  • What do you do about animals in the property?

We do not move them ourselves. Where their number or their condition raises concern, we report it to whoever instructed us and to the relevant services, and the work is organised with them. Until that is settled, we keep to the areas where their welfare is not in question.

  • How long before the property fills up again?

That is an honest question and it deserves an honest answer: without ongoing support it comes back, often within a year. A declutter on its own treats nothing. We raise it at the first visit, because a job that looks good and does not last six months is not a job well done.

Tell us about the property.

A few lines are enough for us to say what is possible and how long it takes. Neither the visit nor the quote commits you to anything, and you do not need to be in France.
